The Redwood Area Education Foundation was established over 20 years ago as a means to help the school district continue its traditions of excellence in all areas of education and extra curricular activities.
The Educational Endowment program was developed by the Foundation as a means of investing donations with the earnings used to fund projects that enhance programs and facilities in the Redwood Area School District. Funds are made available annually through a grant process to school district staff. Requests must meet the intent of the Educational Endowment Program with priority given to funds requests that meet the following criteria:
- Enhances the learning experience of a number of students.
- Provides funding for items which are not eligible as a direct district appropriation
- Has a positive educational impact for students over an extended period of time
Hall of fame
The Redwood Area Schools’ Hall of Fame is designed to recognize alumni, school staff members or community members from Belview, Morton, or Redwood Falls. Established under the umbrella of the Redwood Area Education Foundation, the Hall of Fame honors those individuals who have made a significant difference in the lives of others.
Dollars for scholars
Dollars for Scholars chapters like ours help hometown students achieve their educational goals by raising scholarship funds, establishing endowments, providing assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process, and distributing scholarships each year.
Recognizes distinguished achievement among those individuals who received a diploma from or attended school within the boundaries of the Redwood Area School District, including Belview, Morton, and Redwood Falls.
The Redwood Area Education Foundation is comprised of a Board of Directors, Rick Ellingworth (Superintendent, Ex. Off.), 2 Dollars for Scholars Board Members and Tami Riley, Foundation Executive Director.
